Most people visualize a medical student, with a white coat, with books in hand and stethoscope around the neck .It is the picture that immediately comes to the mind.

Is this the only identity of a medical student or can there be more to the persona of a medical student?

Is being a bookworm the only virtue required to become a good clinician?

The fact is that to be wholesome, we need to cultivate and nourish our passion and abilities along with our efforts for excellence in academics.

For those who chose the medical stream, a kind of social pressure is often initiated in school itself. Would be medicos are made to feel and realize that they have to be book centric otherwise they will lose track of the path to medical school. The participation in sports, dance, music is generally discouraged. Once in medical school, the scenario is different from the engineering and arts colleges. We, as medical students experience cultural events once in a blue moon, and there again, many students, ignore such events.
