Hostel friendships last a lifetime

“Hostel friendships last a lifetime”is doubted by few; a question for many and a dream for me.

Day one into the hostel ushers a new beginning- meeting a very new family. We meet and bond with our new friends. Starting from sitting together in the class from day one ,to tagging them in our instagram posts, to providing each other all the missed class notes and …listening to every stupid advice… this is how friendship begins!!

In the beginning, we seek friends and eventually we narrow down to only one or two persons. These friends for life match our frequency and make us complete.There is no place for inhibition or formality.When efforts are made from both sides the bond surely survives the test of time.   

When one enters into a hostel, there’s a feeling of being homesick but with the hostel family, the hostel in many ways becomes a “A home away from home”. The good friends provide a shoulder to cry on and care of us like family. They are our motivators both in good deeds and even in mischief. They eventually become our secret keepers. All the stupid secrets are enclosed in a secret special box accessible only amongt the best friends. When our friends are happy so are we and vice versa.
