COMMON SENSE (Dictionary): Good sense and judgment in practical matters.

Why does the saying “COMMON SENSE IS THE MOST UNCOMMON THING” bring about knowing smiles, nodding of the head in agreement, and such immediate responses among people who themselves are responsible for its credibility? Is it an oxymoron (a sentence where two contradictory statements appear) or is it just the moron in us that makes it so?
